When does wedding exclusivity apply?

Exclusive use of the venue is from 11.30am on the day of the wedding until 10am the following morning. 

When can we have access to that amazing place to set up?

Access to the venue for the bridal party is from 11.30am on the day of the wedding.  Suppliers can arrive on site from 3 hours before the ceremony.  Wedding guests who are staying overnight at the venue may check in to their rooms from 2pm.

Can we bring our own caterers?

To ensure the quality of the food served, we do not allow the use of external caterers that are not on our preferred supplier list. Instead, we ask that you choose from one of our carefully selected preferred caterers who have package options or will bespoke a menu to your personal requirements and budget.  

Do you allow corkage?

No, we do not offer the option of corkage, however we have worked very hard to ensure that we can provide our clients with good quality wines at reasonable prices.

What time is the ceremony held?

For our classic wedding package, you can book your civil ceremony anytime from 2pm.  For twilight weddings the cermeony is held at 4pm or 5pm.

What is the finish time for music and the bar?

Sunday through to Thursday the bar closes/music ends at 11.30pm and the venue closes at midnight to all non-residential guests. From Monday to Wednesday the bar closes/music ends at 11.00pm and the venue closes at 11.30pm to all non-residential guests. 

Is the overnight accommodation included in the package price?

The overnight accommodation (charged at £2,500 for all 15 rooms, sleeping 31 guests) is not included in the wedding package price.  We keep this separate as couples usually recoup room costs from their guests and it therefore doesn’t need to factor in your wedding budget.

Is furniture included in the hire price?

Yes, our venue hire price includes all required tables and chairs.

Do you provide table linen?

Yes, we will provide plain white table linen or you can upgrade to coloured linen for an additional cost.

What size is your cake stand?

We have a traditional silver 16″ round cake stand and silver knife which you are welcome to use at no extra cost.

Do we have to use your preferred suppliers?

We do request that you use one of our preferred caterers, so that we can ensure that the highest quality of food is served to your wedding guests.  If you are using the marquee in the evening, you will also be required to use our in-house DJ Herts Events.  For all other services, you are free to use your own choice of supplier.  We have a list of fantastic suppliers available on our – see preferred suppliers.

Is there overnight parking?

Your guests are welcome to leave their cars overnight at their own risk. They must be collected the following morning.

Is there a restriction on child numbers?

There is no restriction as to the number of children attending your wedding.

Are there any undisclosed charges?

No, all of our charges are discussed with you at your first meeting to help with your budgeting.

Do your costs include registrar fees?

No, you will need to contact the registrar directly to organise and pay for your civil ceremony.
